Need some hook-size suggestions (see inside)

I have been a spin- and baitcast- warmwater fisherman for a lot longer than I've been a flyfisher, and I have some ideas about how to cook up fly-rod versions of my favorite soft plastic lures (using fly-tying materials, not just just threading a powerworm on a hook ), but I need some suggestions on hook types and sizes. Something for small for 1'' or 2'' crappie-jig or mister-twister sizes, and something larger on which to tie 4" to 6" worms, crawfish, etc. Any suggestions?

For the Crappie Jigs/Twister tail: Aberdeen style crappie hook or the Daachi 2461. Round bend straight shank. Size 6 to 10.

I use a lot of the Gamakatsu light wire straight shanked worm hooks, size 2 to 5/0. TMC 300, size 2 to 6. The hooks mentioned for the jigs and twister tail except in size 2 to 3/0.
If I'm going weedless, I use the Gamakatsu and Eagle Claw hooks with the wire already on the shank. 4 to 3/0.

Look at the Mustad 3399 and 3366 sproat hooks for your bass and panfish flies.

These are 'standard' hooks, something that will work with most fly patterns. They come in sizes from 16 to 5/0. They are also inexpensive at between $3 and $5 per hundred.

I use them almost exclusively for my warmwater patterns.

You can get them from Jann's Netcraft or any large tackle parts retailer.
