Thread: Rod Storage

    Default Rod Storage

Is there a recommended way to place rods in their storage bag and then into the tube? All big ends down, alternating big small? Of course I assume they should be wiped dry before placing in the bag, but beyond that I know very little. Which end of the rod near the cap of the tube? Same type question for storage of reels. Is it wise to store more than one reel in the same case? Does the storage time frame make any difference in method of storage? Between weekly fishing excursions versus end of season?

    BLoops,

I store my reels in an old briefcase I had lying around. I cut 3/16 lattes to make dividers so all 8 reels and 4 extra spools are in order and don't bang around. Also helps as as soon as I see there is 1 empty "cubicle", I know there is a reel or spool missing, in a vest or on the hood of the truck.
