Agate and Agatine...what is the difference. Is Agatine a synthetic agate? Thats what I'm assuming. Any way to tell the difference if you have a pile of them?

Agate is the Real McCoy!!
One difference is that Agate often has variations in color where Agatine is quite uniform in color. Pics might help.

Thanks for the pictures. I used a flashlight to look for banding in the guides and feel that I got them pretty well sorted. I guess my big question was to just find out if agatine was synthetic.
