Something I wonder about every time I put on a stripper with a single/double foot is if there is a difference in which way it should be mounted - single foot toward the reel, or double foot?

I always mount the double foot towards the reel.

Just to have it the same way all the time? Or is there a reason - the strength factor of the double leg?
not sure why but casting rods have them mounted that way too.
Sorry..I don't understand...do you mean by "casting rods"...the ones used in competition?Originally Posted by mhedlund

It's your rod. Build it the way YOU want it . After all, that's why we build em'.

"Double leg" toward the reel, single leg toward the tip. There is a 5% angle to the guide and it is intended to allow a slight downward angle when retrieving line.
