I just got these Anodized Aluminum cones. I bought each color in Medium. I like this idea, cause I don't like to weight my flies and allow the line to get me to whatever depth. They also come in small and LARGE

Fly Goddess,
Can you tell us where we can buy them? I am assuming you got them at the Orvis store you work(ed) at.

Flash!!! I am sure there is a little weight to these, but I think more the flash. I have tried fishing Prince Nymphs, Pheasant Tails, etc with and without beads (gold, brass, chrome, whatever) and it seems I get more hits on the beads than with out.Originally Posted by Ron Mason
There are some like chironomid's that I want to sink fast, that cast I like tungsten, but for the most part I prefer regular beads.
Two FYIs: the cones are sold wholesale by Cascade Crest Tools in Central Point, Ore. They also have a version that has holes in it to cause the fly to burble...or bubble or whatever. They're called Cam's Bubble Cones. They appear to come in the same colors as the anodized aluminum cones.
Not sure if they're the same ones, FG, but they might well be.
