I am thinking about bying one of AK Best's books and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on which one to buy.

I do tie flies and fish a lot of mountain water if that affects an opinion

    Allstar,

Unlike many authors who publish one good book and then five or six volumes of junk, A.K.s books are all worthy of a place on any fly tyer's book shelf. I can't name one A.K. book that I would want to part with. That being said, I particularly like "Fly Fishing with A.K. and A.K. Best's Advanced Fly Tying 8T

    Allstar,

    Buy them all.

But, if you only can get one, and you are really into improvig your tying skills, get his 'Production' book.

    Good Luck!

I agree with everyone else, they are all exceptional books. A.K. is my favorite fly tyer. If you have to pick just one, I'd recommend "Production Fly Tying". It covers everything from tool & vise selection and modification to tying in the various parts that make up the fly; tail, wings, body, etc. It also offers invaluable tips that will make anyone a better tyer.
My one wish is that when I die my wife doesn't sell my fishing stuff for what I told her I paid for it...
