Thread: Best Excuse Given for Flyfishing

Default Best Excuse Given for Flyfishing

Wanted to know what the best excuse you have given in order to go flyfishing.

I regularly tell my wife that in order to bond with her dad, I should take him fishing. I tell her that it he really enjoys his time with me and looks forward to it weekly and I don't want to dissapoint him.

Funny thing is - He tells his wife the same thing!

I don't use excuses. I see what she has planned and if nothing family oriented I tell her I am going fishing.

Fortunately I don't have to do that anymore. But before sometimes I would say it was business related.

No excuse needed. The wiff saw that her dad just kind of withered away after he retired. He had no hobbies to keep him active. Stayed around the house and got underfoot.
Wiff says that will NOT happen to me. I must go fishing for the sake of our marriage. Anything to promote marital bliss, says I.

    I don't need excuses.

On a few rare occassions, I'd forgotten to mention that we were going fishing on the weekend. I'd get home from the office and the gear would all be neatly stacked in the driveway all ready to get loaded into the truck.

Junior and Mom already changed and ready to go

    (I love my family)
