Default Winter fishing in Fraser River CO

    Hi Folks,

I have a trip next February (4th to 8th) to Winter Park, Co. I was wondering if will be posible to wet a line in the area. I know that the Fraser river is fishable in Summer (some folks say that it's good fishing) But my trip is in Feb... I hope that it is not covered by ice all the way and that there are some nice holes there.

Does someone have any idea how the fishing might be up there in Feb?

    Thanks!

    Martin

    Martin,
If you have a car head to the williams fork or the CO. Both will most likely be OK. The fraser can freeze over easily deopending on the weather. Check the stream report at bluequillangler.com before you go and you should be fine.

    Bonstonangler,

Thanks for the info. It is a new place for me and I have no idea how the fraser will be in winter. I will check out the Williams fork, since I will drive all the way from IA to CO, I'll have the car with me there. I hope to have enought time free to fish there, it's a bussiness trip...

    thanks again,

    Martin

Realize that Fraser and surounding area is about as cold as Colo towns get. If you are going to be out and about bring lots of warm stuff.

Thanks for the tip!! I was looking at the maps and the area seems to be at the top of the rokies! So I expect a very cold weather.

Don't forget to check your cars antifreeze also. 30 below would be good - just in case.

    Arkriver,

I like to keep my subaru ready for winter. But I'll surely change the antifreezer before going. I do change it once a year, and I think it is due soon, have to check. Thanks for the tip again
