Winter bluegill & bass fishing

This year I have just about used my flyrod exclusively, instead of letting it sit in the corner gathering dust. Now it's the baitcasters sitting in the corner.

The flyrod is a lot more fun than throwing plastic worms and such.

Looking forward to seeing what I can do now the weather has cooled down.

Take it from me, you are just going to love the fly rod! I spent 32 years tournament bass fishing and finally just got burnt out on them plus the lakes are just too crowded and the enjoyment of the sport was not there anymore. I picked up a fly rod 10 years ago and have never looked back. I fish for everything with the fly rod and it brought all the enjoyment back into my fishing! Even small fish are fun on a fly rod plus larger fish cannot compete against the fly rod and it will wear them out quickly. Now I tie my own flies and have been teaching a Beginners Fly Tying class twice a year at the local college. Been teaching it for 8 years and still look forward to each class. I hope the flyrod and fly fishing bring you as much joy as they have given me. I only wish I had picked it up 30 years ago.
