Default Gudebrod Bros. Rod Winding Silk Thread.

Recently I was at a flea market (still have never seen any fleas for sale), where I spotted four spools of Silk Rod Winding Thread.

The spools that the silk thread is wound onto, are black, and constructed from wood. There are two labels on each spool: One side says "GUDE-WIND 50 YDS COL", the other side says "GUDEBROD BROS. ROD WINDING SILK 50 YDS 00".

The color of the thread on the spool are; White, Cornflower Blue, Green, and Barred Olive. I am placing them on my curio shelf in my fly fishing den, along with other things I find from "Days Gone By".

Any help on determining when these were produced, or marketed would help. It is surprising that the thread still has strength as well as color retention.

    Thank You!

    Steven:

If you e-mailed Gudebrod you may want to call them too. They are going through some restructuring and chaos may be a word to describe the situation there in regards to getting information.
