Default new camera test

Now you can see why I'm dissatisfied with my flies. If you really want to see every flaw in a fly grab one out of your box, take a high resolution photo and put it on a fifty inch T.V. screen. ]http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q269/crockeryflytyer/IMGP0045.jpg[/IMG]g] [/img]
Not that my tying is any gage of how a fly should look, but from what I see here it meets my criteria:

    1. When greased up it will ride high in the water.
    2. It looks BUGGY!

If you're not satisfied with this fly, tie a dozen in any size, PM me and I'll give you my address so you can ship them to me. I'll make very good use of them and post the pictures afterwards.

    Dear rainbowchaser,

Next time lick your fingers before you twist the muskrat onto the thread and it will give you a tighter body, if you want one. Otherwise that fly looks pretty dang good to me and it will look even better to the fish I'll bet.

    Best Wishes,

    Default Nice pic

    Hi there,

I just got a new digital camera, an Olympus FE180. I want to take some pics of flies, what did you use for a background and lighting? Your fly looks really great in the picture. I am still trying to figure my camera out, have only taken about 30 good pictures and they were outdoors. The indoor ones I need to play with lighting ALOT more.

    Looking for some pointers,

    Dwight

Looks good to me too. You can either let it ride high or trim the hackle down a bit. That's why I leave mine a little long. Gives you more options with the fly. Great fly and it will catch fish.

thank you to everyone for your kind words about he fly. I just pulled one out of the box for a camera test so it wasn't particularly good. D Benner, does your camera have a macro mode? That's what I used with just a piece of paper for a background but set far enough back to be out of focus. I was too lazy to set up any lighting for what was intended as a test of the system of posting pictures rather than something I wanted to keep so I used the camera's flash but set at the soft level. In addition to Al Campbell's articles here I read the photography section at http://www.globalflyfisher.com before trying to take pictures of flies

I think that's a good looking fly . That Adams will catch fish on the water that I fish any day.

    Nice job
