Donald is referring to this weeks article in "Just Old Flies and stuff",[url=http://www.flyanglersonline.com/features/oldflies/:d3ddb]"Flies from Norway, circa 1976"[/url:d3ddb], which is about tube flies. You would not know that, unless you have already read the article.

The fly of the week is the one I would have thought you'd (Donald) keyed in to. I thought it looked like a thistle, at first glance!!

    Thistle!

Betty, you had to say Thistle!

When I was very young (5 years old), I started 9 years of speech therapy. One of my tortures, was having to say...

    "Cecil Thistle Sickle Cycle"...

Try saying that three time, as fast as you are able....

    Cecil Thistle Sickle Cycle
    Cecil Thistle Sickle Cycle
    Cecil Thistle Sickle Cycle

Least we not forgetthe Scotch thistle (variously identified, but most often as Onopordum acanthium, now cultivated as an ornamental) is the badge of the Scottish Order of the Thistle and the national emblem of Scotland. I think I'll have a wee drap before I gang awar. We have the red/purple Russian thistle here in SE Michigan. And yes, the finch's do like them.
