    I think that's a 40's 50's reel.

H had a South Bend auto when I was a kid. That would be in the early 50's. I don't know the model number but I went to Google and found a bunch for sale anywhere from 5 to 50 dollars. I hope someone can give you a more exact date as my curiosity has been aroused.

anyone know if you can buy parts for this reel? i lost the one screw. DO NOT just pull an auto fly reel apart quickly unless you know what your doing! If you do look out that springs gonna fly out.

easy and I want try to tell ya how, but if you need
help, let me know. I've got several of the reels and
can probably scare up a screw for ya. Warm regards,

The red one is the very reel that was on an old 9 ft montague boo rod that was given to me about 15 years ago. I was dating a girl who's dad had of all things, a heavy (deep sea I think) 5 ft bamboo rod. I told him I liked it, he turns around and says "well you can have this one, I don't know how to use it", and hands me the montague. The reel still works as good as ever!
