    Default Forecast or matrix?

I'm building a rod for my 12 year old cousin. It's his first rod. he wants an 8.6 ft 5 weight. I'm looking at the kits at hook hack. Does anyone recommend one over the other?

I agree that either would be fine. I personally would select the Matrix for the visual aesthetics, that green weave is unique and attractive.

I built a matrix last christmas for my son.
Really nice blank for the bucks.I did his on the 8'
3wt. blank wrapped it up with single foots,a handmade
cork and composite grip with maple accent and the cutout reel seat like loomis is using now with a maple insert.I realy like the blonde and green together.
