    Default Need A Brilliant,Workable Idea

I really like to keep two rods rigged when fishing. Upright rod holders would seem to be a problem because of my tendency to ignore what's behind me when intent on a fish while out on the water. I'm wondering if anyone has tried fastening one rod down to the deck of a yak and leaving the tip hanging over the end. My yak is only 12' long, so in order to be able to reach the rod not in use,I want the handle close to me..hence the hanging over the end.
I kinda like the velcro idea, but haven't searched for any, yet.

With my old 'Yak it came with a paddle strap that was an elastic on the side. I used it to hold a rod successfully.

I currently have a scotty rod holder that can hold a rod parallell to the 'yak and thats the best. In general I point it at a 30 degree angle forward and it does not interfere.

If you're right handed put all your spare rods on the left side. And vice-versa if your left handed.
