Got Away

I went fishing with my dad this weekend and hooked my first salmon. I actually hooked two salmon. They both got away but for the brief time I had them on it was sheer joy. Now, all I can think about is calling in sick!!

The good thing about salmon is that when you do hook one in the jaw, assuming the line doesn't break, nothing except a pair of pliers is going to get it loose. I have had Coho and Chinooks absolutly destroy triple hooks til they looked like a miniature trident when the fish got thru with them.

And no I'm not ashamed of my younger triple hook days. I use single barbless even for salmon now.
