Favorite Bumper Stickers

The postings title was in regards to bumper stickers.. by this is along the same line, state tourism billboards.

North Dakato started it all with a campaign to try and lure people to "Exciting North Dakota " for their family vacation. Seemed tha South Dakota, Minnesota, and Montana (even Alberta and Ontario) were getting more tourists than North Dakota. So the North Dakota Tourism Board, place a billboard in the Black Hills near Mount Rushmore, showing the picture of the 4 Presidents, with a caption above Teddy Roosevelts head, saying "I'd rather be in North Dakota (where his cattle ranch is located), then they placed another billboard on the Minnesota/North Dakota board at "Fargo", which said "Stay in North Dakota, Minnesota Border Closed!". Finally they placed a Billboard on the Montana/North Dakota Border which stated, "Think North Dakota is boring, wait til you see Montana, now that is Boring!"

Finally Montana got even, rented about a two mile stretch of road side and planted telephone poles alone the stretch, with a offical sign that said, "North Dakota State Forest!"

In Kelowna BC in the heart of the sunny Okanagan Arena motors had a sign on the side of the highway. On the west side for people coming from the coast it read. DON'T BE ALARMED THE BIG BRIGHT THING IS THE SUN. and on the other side for people coming from Alberta it read. ALBERTA MONEY AT PAR.

In Keremeos BC, (Kara me oss) where the wind blows so constantly the fruit trees all have a lean to the west. A farmer put two 4x8 foot signs along each edge of his property that said. The wind never blows in Keremeos. At the far edge of his property 1/4 mile away the other sign that said . Because this place sucks.
City officials asked him to remove them which he finally did a month later "for the good of the town".
