    Default Fly Reel Dots

    I wanted to thank whoever brought the fly reel dots for folks at the Michigan Fish-In. I applied mine two days ago to get ready for a trip this weekend, and just realized they were tailored with "FAOL MI Fish-in 2006", and are pretty nifty. What a great momento.

    Jeff,
    Thanks go to DotMan! Jerry designed & furnished the Dots for the Michigan Fish-In. He's just another fantastic FAOLer.

    Hey Joe,
    I wear either a vest or fishing shirt. Both those, AND my wader top pocket have velcro closures and/or velcro rod holders. I used to lose the Dots until I started keeping the disc on one of those velcro patches. There is still enough velcro exposed for the intended function, & I haven't lost a Dot since.

    Sounds like something Jerry ( dot man ) would do. We stayed at the same "resort", the Wyandotte Lodge, at the MI Fish In and had an opportunity, thanks to our host Jack, to taste test some "hooch" right outta a Mason jar. I remember seeing "dots" after that for at least an hour or more.
    Oh, there were OTHER dots??

    Bill,
    It really was my idea out of necessity. I lost too many of 'em!

    Guy's;
    I believe that Jerry's advice is to put the removable button in your pocket so you "don't lose it in the stream"!
    If you've lost one give me a shout I have more.

    Jack & Mike,

    You both have the right idea of what to do with Dots while fishing. Putting them in a pocket is the best safeguard against loss and that is what I recommend.

    Marco,

    I did not realize you did not get any Dots at the Fish-In. I believe there were some left over (Case Dots too). I see Jack said he had some so if anyone missed out on them let him or me know and one of us will send you some.

    It is great to hear how much ya'll like them.

    Thanks,

    Jerry
