Beaver Tailwaters update

I fished the Beaver lake (Arkansas) tailwaters this weekend and was delighted to find that the fishing there has improved significantly since the last time I was there (about 8 months ago). The COE with monetary help from Trout Unlimited has installed trout habitat ( weirs etc.). This along with new slot regulations has increased the average size of the trout to about 14 inches with lots of larger fish as well. I fished for about 6 hours and had steady action the whole time. Zebra midges and micro jigs were both working great for me. I didn't try anything else since these were working so well.

It's doing better. Or at least I am learning to catch some fish . . LOL. Have fun.

Stop in at Beaver Dam Store near the dam and talk to those guys. They'll be able to tell you what they are hitting, etc. Pick up a couple of Bryce's TDM Midge. I had had great luck with black/copper and silver recently.
