    Default Tongariro

Hello all, just thought I would let you all know that I have just spent 5 days fishing the Taupo area and the fishing is great, and for those who saw the events of my last trip - this time my new (second hand but new to me)car actualy made it all the way there and back again without breaking down!
The fishing is good at the moment and the weather is even playing ball, the river is low and clear but by using smaller flies and finer tippet it is still possible to pick up the odd good fish in the Tongariro.
Also fished the Wanganui on Thursday, did not see another angler all day and landed 2 good browns and 5 rainbows, mostly on wee wets. Great fun and I can't wait to get back there again.
    All the best.
    MIke.

    Hi Mike,

Glad to hear your car made it this time, and that the fish were cooperative! I'm just back from a conference in Queenstown and had a few tries on the edge of Lake Wakatipu but no luck this year.

Hi Jeff, If you can get down to the Togariro soon,I would go for it, my mates who are down there now are having a ball, Plenty of good fish and not so many anglers.
    All the best.

    Hi Mike,
We're going for a day trip to the Waihau (sp?) near Tirau just off White's Road. Hopefully the sun will come out soon (as called for). I'm going to give my new 3 wgt a try. We may head on in to Rotorua later, and come back tomorrow. Fingers crossed there is something to report.
