Default Trying to find a hard to find rod part

I'm getting ready to restore my father's old Wright Mcgill eagle claw fiberglass rod. I can get everything I need from H&H but I can't seem to find a rather unique piece for the rod. It is the round metal eagle claw logo that was pressed into the cork handle. Does anyone have an idea where I might find such a thing? Any help would be great.

    Greetings Harebear,

http://www.eagleclaw.com/ may be a good place to start. If they have the metal logo, you're in luck, if not, they may be able to direct you to someone who collects and perhaps sells such things. Good luck !

    Cheers,

Thanks Denver Dave. Rick is the man! I have the emblem on the way. He was a wealth of useful knowledge on glass rods, I may indeed buy the items to build a glass rod from Rick for myself, if I like the way this current one I'm working on casts.

No Problem HB, glad it worked out for you...

Rick has some "New/Old" Phillipson Glass Blanks that are pretty cool, thought about doing some myself...

Phillipson made all the Glass Blanks for Orvis and HL Leonard ( to name a few ) in the 50's and 60's and in two or three types of Glass, so there is some great history there...
