    Use WELY as your search word. Then connect to the radio station (WELY). Then go to their photo gallery. Keep in mind that the firefighter can only use canoes to get in to fight the fires.

    The storms happened over the 4th of July several years ago (1999 I think). They've been doing controlled burns over the last several years to keep a really big one from burning the entire thing.
    Went up there in 02 and traveled through some of the area affected.

    I believe that this fire was started by lightning. At first the flames were so high that they could only use helicopters to fight the fire. It burned for a few weeks before they could get in ground crews.
