My New Steelhead Rig

I'm busting at the seams...I ordered a custom-built Sage VT2 9'6" 8wt rod and added a Hobbs Creek reel with type IV sinktip line.

My plan is to fish Lake Erie tribs this fall for steelhead. I will also be heading to Canada in 2 weeks and will attempt muskie from the float tube with the combo.

I'm also gonna head onto Lake Erie with the tube this fall...weather permitting and fish outside the breakwall on Cattaraugus Creek. I will do this prior to the steelhead run, when the fish feed on the minnows outside the creek mouth.

In any event, there is alot to look forward to this season! Gonna try and land the muskie with a boga grip and unhook while in the water.
