Yea, yea I know I have been talkin alot about the ponds on the golf course.
I had been tellin one of my ole fishin buds from out of town about the catfish on a fly rod and fishing nymphs. He was like yeas , right, that was a fluke.
Well we went to the pond, I handed him a crappie candy, 2nd cast..... he caught a nice channel cat. he caught 2 or 3 crappie n a few small large mouths. I was in the meantime slaughtering crappie. Before he left he asked where he could get flies like the ones we used. I grabbed an old altoid tin, put foam in the bottoim and tied him up a bunch of producers, crappie candy, hare ear nymph, flshback hare ear nymph, pheasant tail nymph, skip morris panfish.. etc etc.
The little tin was overflowing. He's going back home to Chattanooga and says he's gonna givem a try there. He was having so much fun, I think I have a convert. The only fishing he had done over the years with a fly rod was poppers in the spring and early summer.
