    Default Mentor

My reccommendation would be get a mentor. Someone who knows about the sport and has experience in it. That's probably the best resource a newbie can have.

And for all you experienced folks here on FAOL, you've been mentors to me too! Thanks!

    Default Finding a mentor

    I agree 110%!

I was lucky to find a mentor, who happens to be a FFF Master Instructor , that has taken me under his wing this past year and has turned me into the flycaster that I am today! When anyone says how well I'm doing with my casting, I always say it's because I have a great mentor who's always there to give me a helping hand when I need it. One day, I hope to pass on what I've learned about flycasting to anybody that wants to learn. I've already started on my 8 year old daughter......she's getting pretty good with her 3 weight rod!

    Regards,
    Doug
