Thread: Hard as nails or head cement?

    Wm I said that because, in my estimate, about 90% of the people I tie with use Hard as Nails. Someone once said that Hard as Nails is a head cement that has an alternate use as nail polish.

    HAN is great, I whip finish by hand, touch a little HAN to thread before whip finishing.

    My Theory is that the glue is in the knot not on it. Works well for me.

    4 whip finishes?!?! or a 4 turn whip finish?

    I usually use two 3-turn whip finishes.

    For head cement (when I use it), I use Sally's with Nylon.
