Thread: Safeguarding a Rod in Canoe or Kayak

I use a rod leash (call it a dummy cord in the Army) but I modify mine. The original one has a velcro strip that you attach to rod seat. The velcro is to thick and interfers with casting , so I trimmed it in half to make the strip more narrow. now it fits nice and tends to stay out of the way more.
    Sarge.

I just toss my gear in the canoe and try not to dump. Bring a mask & snorkel in case you do. Cheers.
