Thread: #16 or smaller swap

  1. #1

    Default #16 or smaller swap

    **********SWAP OFFICIALLY CLOSED*********

How about a new swap for your favorite brook trout fly's. The small one's we all use on "skinney" waters. Sizes 16 and smaller. ALSO, these don't have to be dries, you pick it. 12-15 tiers, entered by the end of the month, June 30th. I personally like to see a pair of flies for every tier. So 12 tiers, 24 flies, 15 tiers, 30 flies. This gives one to use and one for a pattern. We'll make the due date on the flies July 31st, so they can go back out about the time most smaller waters are clearing up from runoff. This is my first attemt at hosting, so if I miss something, please don't hesitate to speak up.
    I'll tie a #22 chartreuse midge pattern I like.
Everyone needs to enclose a postage paid self address envelope (padded) for the return trip!

    Flies can be mailed to:

    Rick Kimmick
    PO Box 124
    Rye, CO 81069

    Tiers:

I just posted about a swap. I would like to help out and start out a hopeful new addiction. I would either like to submit a 16 flourescent crackleback which is a dry or a 18 griffiths gnat, let me know what you would like.

Tiers choice my friend, you choose it, tie it, and we'll all enjoy it.

    Country Gent,
I'm in, I'll tie two copper john's. But one thing, I need to know exactly how a fly swap works, because I've never participated in one before.
    Thanks -David

Zimrx and flytier...you missed the numbers...if there are 12 tiers signed up EACH person needs to tie 24 flies so when divided, everyone in the group will get 12 PAIR of flies, one to use as a pattern and one to use of the fish.

Sign me up for mosquitos! Probably size #22. Maybe tied with horse mane! YES!! I love fly swaps!!

Countrygent...everyone needs to enclose a postage paid self address envelope (padded) for the return trip! Don't EVEN offer to pay postage!

I made the mistake of assuming that my post was easily understood, I meant of course I would tie the 2 flies for each person, either 24 or 30 depending on the number. I am so engrossed with the sound off board and the bulletin board right now, ugggh how do you beat the addiction!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brook Trout? Size 16 or smaller? OK, I'm in.
Being Brook trout, I have to tie a Brown Hackle Peacock. It's one of my favorites. I'll think of a second fly later.

Wayne, You only have to tie one pattern, just enough for each to receive two. I chose to do two patterns for this, cause one doesn't come without the other. Just my little extra cause I love tying. I'm already liking the pattern choices we're getting, this should turn out to be a nice little selection of flies.
