Default Favorite Classic Dry Fly Swap

SWAPPERS, THERE WERE A FEW OF YOU THAT HAD EMAILS OTHER THAN WHAT WAS LISTED HERE AT FAOL. IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE PLEASE EMAIL ME AGAIN, SORRY.

    SEEGE

    THIS SWAP IS NOW CLOSED!!!!!!!

    O.k. heres the details,

Ive started tying flies for my MI box which consists of Quills, Hendricksons, BWO, and much more. So this has sparked a fire under my butt to host another swap. Ive noticed that most of the other swaps on the board are coming to an end so there has to be some available people out there. I assure you that this swap will be run in a professional and courtious manner.

The interpretation of a classic fly would be one of the popular patterns. Anything from the Catskills to the High Floating flies of the West. I would like to get a significant number of people for this since there should be plenty of choices. The deadline would be gracious enough so as not to put a cramp on time. So whos up for some tying?

    Heres the info:

Flies: any fly that you would find main stream. Example; Humpy, BWO, Hendrickson, Quills, H & L Variants, Trudes, Coachmans( Im sure you get the idea)

The deadline for mailing flies to me is 4/01/2005.

Please send all flies and a SASE to me with return postage in a crush proof container.

15 participants tying one fly per person for a total of 15 flies. All flies should have the recipe and if possible the source in which you referenced it for tying.

I would like to get them posted on the board does anyone have access to a digital camera? Lets talk.

I will post my fly after everyone else has entered and will throw in an extra fly of a different pattern to sweeten the pot.

size 16 or 18 thorax dun, say the Dark Olive.

    thread - olive
wing - dark grey turkey flat
tails - dark blue dun hackle fibers - split
body - dark olive fur synthetic
hackle - dark blue dun wound over thorax and clipped on bottom.

This will get me going on the spring tying run I need to start anyway. thanks for hosting the swap.

Welcome to the swap for those who have joined. The total number we have now is 6 still 9 more slots left open. I will take them in the order in which they appear on the board.

    Happy New Year all.
I'd like to join this swap. I need a break from the endless flow of nymphs I've been tying in preperation for the melting of the 1/8 inch of ice that is on my favorite lake, when it melts off the trout go nuts feeding on midges.

Please put me down for a size 10 Dark Green Drake.

If all goes as planed for this swap the 4-1 due date could very well set up my reciving back the flies on my birthday 4-12, what more could a person ask for?
    Thanks all
