I was fishing the White river (Arkansas) last weekend - nymph fishing and doing pretty well until about noon when things slowed down considerably. I noticed that the fish had started hitting something on the surface, so i watched for a while and saw a tan caddis about 6 feet in front of me about 2 inches above the surface of the water. Suddenly a trout jumped from the water and took it in mid air. I immediately put on a #14 tan caddis and started catching fish left and right. Caught one on nearly every cast. It was one of the best days fly fishing I've had - can't wait to get back out this next weekend. I hope the hatch is still on.
