Had an INCREDIBLE week fishing the small streams and lakes of the Snowy Range in the Medicine Bow, Wyoming. Had Brookies from 4 inches to 15 inches every day. Had two "launchers"...you know the ones I mean...so small that when you go to set the hook, you launch the poor little fish into the next county!! The one little one landed in some sawdust that was piled up from logging. Had to clean him up before I could release him! Encountered only a few other people fishing the lakes...no one else fishing the streams! Highs in the low 70's, lows in the low 40's., 6-8-10 foot high mounds of snow still in every shadowed area, and many areas inaccessable due to snow, and heavy melt off. Water was high and fast. Mosquitos were VERY aggressive! Big enough to leave a shadow across the landscape as they dove for the kill.
Airconditioning in our hotel involved opening the windows to let the air in! Still needed the down comforter at night! In JULY!!
No trains. No cars. No airplanes. Just perfect quiet...and a few coyotes.
Absolutely incredible!!
