Here?s the fishing report!

We just returned from 2 weeks fishing in the Black Hills of South Dakota. They?re in their 5th year of a drought. Pactola Reservoir was down about 20 feet, and Deerfield Reservoir was down about 10 feet.

Despite this, the smaller streams were flowing well, and fish were plentiful, although somewhat smaller. Browns and Brookies gave chase to small dry flies, mostly the tent-wing caddis.

The weather was, to say the least, changeable. Sun, rain, wind, snow, all within 15 minutes! Got caught in a heck of a blizzard up in Spearfish canyon. Didn?t last more than 20 minutes, but certainly put down a layer of white!
