Default Green River in mid Feb.

    In by email:

Hi Castwell. 5 of us from work spent 3 days on the Green with very good success. Weather was good and fishing was even better. We took 2 boats and traded off fishing every 2 fish. About 10 min. was as long as anyone spent on the oars and some stretches were 2 casts. Best flies were white articulated leach and a bugger that is called goldilocks by all of the locals. Fish averaged 17-18 inches and most (almost all) were Browns. Largest about 22 inches.

This is below Flaming Gorge damn isn't it?

Because above the damn is a little on the hard side.

One of these days I HAVE to get down there again, it's only 60 miles away!

Is the stretch you fished suitable for pontoon boats and where did you put in and take out?
My fishing partner and I do an extended (10day) trip each year, normally Missoula,MT and work our way to West Yellowstone. This year will be the SF of the Boise River.

Mike We put in just below the dam, A section if you will. It is a very easy strech and lots of folks use P.B's. Most water is deep and slow so take you sink tip or sinking line. after the weather warms up it gets crowded but fishes well just the same. In the summer put in very early or late afternoon you won't have the crowds. it is about 7 miles to the take out on the A section. If your in to small stuff 20-24 pheasent tail works well.
