in light of the 'more stories' comments in one of the threads below...thought i'd post this up. I made a similar post a while back on one of the regional ff boards...just to highlight that you don't necessarily have to drive across the state (any state) to pull out the long rod. This is 'the ditch behind my house'.

This is a drainage ditch that empties into the storied waters of White Oak Bayou.

On any given day, in the waters of the ditch, or the bayou, you can catch any combination of the following:
-Tilapia

-Green sunfish: this is actually a smaller one, i've caught them up to 10 inches, with 8-9 inch fish being fairly common

-i believe this is a long eared sunfish

-a rio grande cychlid

-a white oak bayou lmb

-grass carp: bad picture...was a shoot and pray with the camera phone

-common carp:


If the water doesn't dry up...there are probablyl fish in it
