I go with long pants, usually khakis, as they repel snakes and leeches more effectively. I wear a buttoned-up shirt in neutral tones. I prefer accordion style pockets on the shirt so that I can carry 2 or 3 boxes of flies in 1 pocket and sunglasses, cheaters (for knot-tying), leaders, and tippet material in another. Hemostats hang off a tag on the shirt. A multi-tool is often attached to a heavy-duty zinger on my belt. My hat is either a baseball cap or some variant of a booney. Old sneakers or regular wading shoes cover my feet. There is a certain fragrance of Eau de DEET about me that repels a certain class of females... well, maybe more than one class...

    this is fun indeed.

yes Mike "classic" not "classy" although classiness is in the eye of the beholder pretty is as pretty does and all that.

One other thing, a jug of water somewhere to keep hydrated.

khaki head to toe... the Joe Brooks look... like this old timer:

"Gore Tex? I don't need no stinkin' Gore Tex!!"
If you could see this guys feet you'd notice he has canvas gym shoes on. Probably Chuck Taylors.

Default A day afield in Warm Water

Baseball cap from Deer Valley ski resort (my lucky hat)
Nylon flats shirt (for the pockets)
    Not too tattered jeans
    Waterproof sneakers (yeah, right!)

If it's not in my hands or in a pocket, it doesn't go along.

    RW here

I don't know here you guys get all your tweed clothes crap, but I live in Maine, a trout fishing mecca, and I dress exactly like you do, except maybe for the shorts. I fish for trout and if I can't carry it in a couple of pockets it doesn't come along. I also wear the same outfits when I fish for panfish.
I have over 100 baseball caps so maybe mine don't need as much of an oil change as yours do, but for the most part the clothes seem identical. So much for stereo types.

Me and Ohiotuber would probably look like twins on a gill pond.

    RW,
If you are following the Michigan Fish-In post, Jackster mentioned Wakely Lake. It is a premier C&R BIG gill fishery. My canoe & I will be there for some fun. If you want to float around it with me, just holler!

    Default Eau de DEET

You do realise that the smell of old fish slim and deet is an aphrodiciacy stuff to some of the getile perssuation or sumtin like that.
You know you found a keeper when she walks up to you (after 3 days in a fish camp with no shower) and responds with a COOO "Oh I love your aftershave".

that is a good look! That brings to mind childhood memories of my uncle's cabinet shop and his wearing all khaki. The pipe ain't bad either, if only I smoked.

I saw a funny note on another website, the write collects all kinds of everything. He said that the worst part about not smoking was not needing ashtrays (all sorts of funky, collectible ashtrays out there) and not looking cool.

I know, I know, I agree 110% that smoking is bad and I don't have the habit but it was still kinda funny to me.
