Default Good day with a new fly

This moring I tried a fly I tied up over the winter, and it did pretty well. It has a triangular foam head, tied on like a gurgler with with the lip cut off. On the back are 8 or 10 black ostrich herl, so the whole fly is about 3 1/2 inches long. It swims and dives nicely, and handles well on my three weight. Best of all, the bass liked it, at least today. I got 6 in a couple of hours, up to about 17 inches.

I am thinking it will work well with some split shot in front, when the fish are deeper, like a Carolina rig. I will keep everyone posted on that.
