I have used EP fibers to tie flies for striped bass and then used the same flies with some success for pike and lake trout. They will definitely get bites but there is one downside. The EP fibers can get all tangled in the pike's teeth. After this happens, it is hard to get the fly back into fishing shape. This doesn't happen with other materials I use for pike flies. I'm not suggesting you don't use it. I'm just pointing out that (in my experience) EP flies are prone to ending up as "one fish" flies if the quarry is pike.
