I want to tie up some large flies for pike using EP fibers. But, there are several types of EP fibers available and I am not sure which type to purchase. I would appreciate some advice on the best ones to use for pike fishing.
Thanks.

I'm not sure what EP fiber is, but I tie baitfish patterns with Enrico's Sea Fiber that I get from Cabelas. It's inexpensive, and it's holographic, just like a real fish. It comes in many colors, but I usually just tie them with Holo-Pearl and use Prismacolor markers to add the other colors and patterns. I can match just about any fish that swims, in fresh or saltwater with this stuff. It's durable and moves better than the real thing in the water. I tie everything from 1" crappie minnows to 4" Shad and Marine baitfish for Stripers and whatever. I'm sure it would work for Pike as well. Here is a basic picture to give you an idea. You are only limited by your imagination as to colors and patterns. I use the High-Tie method to quickly and easily build up a baitfish body, sparse for a streamlined minnow shape, or heavier for a deep-bodied shad or sunfish body.
Sorry for all the edits. It took me a bit to figure out how to post a picture.
Hope this helps.

What is the High tie method. Great looking flies
Is the charteuse/white done with colored pen or colored materials? Which, I guess, is the same.....but ya know....
....lee s.
PS - Good looking bugs.

Gigmaster,
Really nice flies. This material should work well for tying big pike flies. I'll have to order some from Cabelas.
Can you please explain the high tie method.
Here's a step by step instruction on how to high tie a fly.

I like to use high tying for flie like perch, sunfish, shad or bunker.
For minnow(narrow body)I just like to tie in the material on the top, bottom and sides.
How does one add a picture to a post. Didn't see anything in the FAQ's
I have used EP fibers to tie flies for striped bass and then used the same flies with some success for pike and lake trout. They will definitely get bites but there is one downside. The EP fibers can get all tangled in the pike's teeth. After this happens, it is hard to get the fly back into fishing shape. This doesn't happen with other materials I use for pike flies. I'm not suggesting you don't use it. I'm just pointing out that (in my experience) EP flies are prone to ending up as "one fish" flies if the quarry is pike.
