First, Rick, I always think about the third cause when I miss fish. Most of the time I'm too slow on the trigger .

Second, like Joe, I found out that not always but "most of the time" larger size flies usually get larger size Bluegill (educated Bluegill are another matter entirely). I use number 8s for Bluegill a little more than number 10s or smaller. Cuts down a little bit on the number of Bluegill I get that are runts. But like Roger said, you can't pick what bites your fly .
