A series of much needed heavy rains as well as some cold snaps have spelled "C-u-r-t-a-i-n-s" for the pond fishing around my area. Over the last months of October and November, I hit it hard and heavy nearly everyday after work and on weekends. I built myfirst rod and went right back at it with the 4 wt. In the last two forays the water temps have dropped and the bite has finally cooled off, too. SIGH!..... Anyway here's the 'next to the last Bass, why the penultimate? because ya never know when a warm spell, or boredom or withdrawls ans desperation may just send me out to a pond to try it again. Caught this little dandy LMB on a can cooler closed cell foam brown hackled popper at sunset a couple weeks back then was stumped the next time and have taken the gear out of the truck. Self built H&H 4 wt, vintage '73 Medalist, local pond found via satellite imagery.
