Book Recommendation

Just wanted to tell everyone about a good book that I'm reading. It's "Bassin' with a fly rod" by Jack Ellis.

Lots of good info and ideas with a few stories here and there.

I got a kick out of one story where he let a neighbor kid talk him into sneaking onto a private lake. He took his float tube and was on the lake when they saw dust of a oncoming pickup. the kid yelled let's get out of here and took of runnig while he was stuck in the tube. He got busted cause he couldn't get out of the lake quick enough. He then went on to say that the lesson learned was to never use a float tube when sneaking onto private lakes. lol

When I read Jack's book, I was pleased to find out I wasn't the only heretic that tried out short plastic worms for bass when I couldn't get them to hit anything else. This isn't something I do very often, but occasionally even on a small stream, they just don't seem to want anything else.

That is a good book. Got it for about $5 at the local bargain bookstore and was very pleased with the purchase.

Great book.

I particularly liked the "history of fly fishing for bass" section. Very interesting how fly fishing for bass was very popular then seemed to almost die out during the "dark ages" he mentions.

Ellis presents some alternative thoughts about bassin'. His other book "Sunfishes" is very good.
