Thank you Tom and Donna for letting us use your abode to play at
this morning and for your gracious hospitality.
Thanks to all who participated. I am sooooo glad for
the "beginners".....experts KNOW how little I know!
We tied a couple bugs at Tom's house. I would not call them the
best bugs.....but very versitile and dependable bugs. Dark woolybugger for our bug immi and a surfcandie for our minnow immi. Then it was off
to Lytton Springs to snoop stuff. It was a PERFECT day for observing a pond
go from somewhat dormant in the AM, to quite active as the sun warmed
the water in the PM. Maybe a 1/2doz damsels were around when we
arrived a little past noon. By the time we left at around four, there
seemed to be a damsel on every stalk of grass pondside.
I think folks were able to see where most stuff happens at a pond.
The bass were in spawn mode, and you know what that means......
Michael was the only one we witnessed getting a fish to hand, and a
very nice one it was. Several were pestered and LDR'ed quite
splendidly.
Gosh, it seemed there was a fish every 20'-30' along the bank (it
SEEMED!) and in the late afternoon they seemed to be pairing and
actively spawning.
Thanks all.....I thoroughly enjoyed the day!
