Robert,
I have to vote for whatever fish is handy. I really don't care too much for driving, as it is my job, so whatever is close and whatever is "running" is USUALLY good.
We have done a few trips like Mexico and Canada and thoroughly enjoyed the different fishes and especially meeting the people. However, if we had to confine our fishing to such endeavers, we would deffinitely go nuts from lack of piscatorial persuit.
Besides how could one choose between flying dorado in a T-shirt, or the blistering chase and blinding crash of a noethern pike on top, or the charge and crash as a largemouth showers you with slime and poop as he crashes your popper thru the slop.
This week our fav seems to be jack smelt on our "ought" out in the bay. Next week may be gills on the same rod, if the weather holds.
Way too hard of a question....foul!
