I like to fish with my kids , and anyone who has never fished before or has fished before and not caught any . It is a joy to turn someone on to fishing .
As long as you can produce the odd fish , Kids are fun to fish with . Kids bore easily so if the fish arent biting I take em frog hunting .
That said I also like to fish by myself , not necessarily alone , I feel more comfortable if I am at least in earshot of someone If I get into trouble .
For God's sake, Don't Quote me! I'm Probably making this crap up!
I most often fish alone. I like the freedom to do what I want and I never feel lonely when I am fishing. Occasionaly my wife will join me on a trip. That experience can go either way. If she has a good time I really enjoy that, but sometimes she can turn it into a head game. Plus I then have to worry about her getting hurt if I leave her unattended. She did not grow up as an outdoors person.
Years ago when I had a regular fishing buddy, I was used to having someone else along. We would usually split up once we got to the water so the solitude factor was still there. It was nice to have someone to discuss the fishing with on the drive to and from the fishing spot.
I most like to fish alone with a friend. Let me explain - usually I fish out of a Hobie Float Cat or by wading. A friend is handy to split costs and shoot the BS with going there and back. Upon arrival we can each go out own way if we want or take turns fishing pools or holding areas, etc. Sometimes one way, sometimes the other.
