    Default No Tailwater Blues!

Broke a little speed limit today getting over to a tailrace -- my only chance of wetting a line all weekend. Three days of 50 degree weather in the middle of a MN winter and this is the only open water I know. Felt great having a rod in my hand even if in the 45 minutes I didn't as much as have a strike. Saw a sunset. Fished in a down vest without a stocking cap. My casts were decent for not having a rod in the hand for nearly three months (Thanksgiving was the last time). Saw some deer in the bush on the way home. No tailwater blues for this ol' boy! JGW

    John,
You sound like me. I always tell my wife that flyfishing is fun whether I catch anything or not and if I do catch one, well, that's just a bonus.
