    Default fishing a wooly bugger

Any tips on best techniques to fish a wooly bugger in moving water. I've caught fish on them in stillwater, but haven't had much luck (except for a few chases) in any moving water. Is there best way to fish them. It seems like most people consider this to be one of the most effective flies, yet I can't seem to make it work on the trout in moving water. Thanks.

    mtman,
My suggestion is to make your woolybugger look more like something that is living in your stream. Try remodeling it by taking the hackle off and cutting the tail down and adding goose biots at the head.
    Good Luck!

You can fish a bugger in almost any way you wish, and catch fish in streams. I like up and across, stripped fast, or dead-drifted like a nymph. Try them all.
