Mark your calendars to be in Livingston Manor, NY on September 3rd! That's the day of the Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum's Annual Summerfest and Anglers' Market. As in past years, the event will take place on the grounds of CFFCM from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., easily accessible from Route 17 and located on Old Route 17 between Roscoe and Livingston Manor.
The annual Summerfest and Anglers' Market is a highlight of Labor Day weekend in the Catskills. This family-oriented, one-day event features activities, craftspeople and fly fishing vendors from throughout the Northeast region. Here visitors can find both vintage and new fishing tackle, collectible books, rustic decorative items, and more. A variety of activities are offered throughout the day, including fly tying demonstrations in the museum, the 4th Annual Great Catskill Fish Race on Willowemoc Creek, casting demonstrations on the grounds, antique tackle appraisals, and children's activities. A special feature of this year's event will be the first annual club competition on CFFCM's Castabout course, a challenging 10-station experience designed to test accuracy and distance where fly fisherman of all levels can hone their casting skills. The gates open at 10:00 a.m. on September 3 rd and activities will continue throughout the day until 4:00 p.m. Admission is $2.00/car with all proceeds going to support CFFCM and its many programs.
The Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum is easily reached from Route 17. Westbound travelers take Exit 96 [Livingston Manor] and follow the signs to Old Route 17 west towards Roscoe for two miles. Eastbound travelers take Exit 94 [Roscoe] and follow the signs to Old Route 17 east towards Livingston Manor for 4.5 miles. The museum entrance is marked by a large logo sign directing visitors across the bridge over the Willowemoc.
