Hey Jordan!

Great to hear about you and your dad - look forward to meeting you both.

Flies: Yellow Sally, #12-#16 (there will probably be a good hatch of Stoneflies, especially on Big Snowbird - it's a fast, rocky stream); Lt. Cahill, #12-#16; BWO, #14-#18; Adams, #12-18; Wulff of your choice, Yellow
Stimulator, or Yellow Humpy, #12-#16 (need to have a high floater for the faster riffles); EHC, #12-#16; Partridge & Yellow wet, #14-#16; Tellico, GRHE & PT nymphs, #14-#18; and of course some black or olive Woolly Buggers. That's a good start. Last year in mid-May I happened on a hatch of Hendricksons on Slickrock Creek and was lucky to have some Pink Ladies in my box - tore 'em up! I'm partial to parachute ties for everything except the Wulffs and Stimulators, but that's just me. I think you'll find that we'll fish a lot of pocket water, and parachutes do fine for that. Jim Casada, a well-known local fisherman/writer, told me that any color fly will work in the Smokies as long as it yellow!

TL,

Dave
