What a great Weekend!! After all this flooding, waters were still kind of high but I couldn't let 60 degree sunny weather go by without tossing a few lines. On Sat I caught a tiny 8'inch trout with my open bail LW rod/reel. But Sunday....Thats when I decided to pull out my flyrod and try this whole casting bit I've been practicing and learning about. Now I know I'll offend many of you when I say I used Dillies instead of a fly, but it works. Anyhow, After about 15-20 casts I pulled in a beautiful 12 inch Brown. You shoulda seen my face as I neted the bad boy. After unhooking it, I let em go swim off and that was that. I know here after the hatch starts I'll be using flies so I'll have to 'relearn' my casting with alot less weight on the tippet, But that was a great first outing trying fly fishing in my opinion. Just thought I'd share and thank everyone for posting answers to my previous posts as Im still 'wet behind the ears'
Thanks again-Darrin
