Went out for a couple of hours yesterday, to a couple of locations on the Charles river. One place had a strong current in front of me, and a nice eddy where I could wade just over knee deep and cast into and over the current.

I noticed a nice trout slowly working upstream, practically at my feet. What is a good tactic to try to catch this fish? I was using a bead head nymph, tried to drop it upstream, and let it drift naturally towards the fish, with no luck. It finally ended up just upstream of me in a thick brush pile.

Anything else to try should I go back?
